The Journey to Healing: Leaving for My Kidney Transplant at AGH

Marcus Geiser leaving for kidney transplant surgery at Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by faith, hope, and family support.

Beginning the journey to healing at Allegheny General Hospital. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support.

Today marks the beginning of one of the most important journeys of my life.

We are leaving for Allegheny General Hospital as I prepare to receive a kidney transplant—something my family has prayed for, hoped for, and trusted God for through many long years. Polycystic Kidney Disease has been part of my family’s story for generations. I watched loved ones fight this battle with strength and courage, and now it is my turn to step forward in faith and believe in healing, restoration, and a future filled with purpose.

There is a deep mix of emotions in moments like this.
Gratitude for the doctors, nurses, and medical teams who dedicate their lives to saving others.
Hope for renewed strength and the chance to keep building, serving, and loving the people around me.
And humility—because journeys like this remind you how much you truly depend on God and on the kindness of others.

While this transplant represents incredible hope, it also comes with real challenges. Medical expenses, travel, time away from work, medications, and the long road of recovery all bring financial pressure during a season when focus needs to stay on healing. Like many families walking through serious medical situations, we are learning to accept help, prayers, and encouragement with open hearts.

If you feel led to support this journey, there are several meaningful ways to help:

  • Pray for a successful surgery, smooth recovery, and lasting health.
  • Share this story so others can follow the journey and keep us in their prayers.
  • Give, if you are able, to help ease the financial burden during recovery.

We have created a GoFundMe page where friends, family, and community members can follow updates and offer support:

Every prayer, every message, every share, and every contribution truly matters. Your encouragement reminds us that we are not walking this road alone—and that kind of love is powerful medicine in itself.

No matter what lies ahead, we believe this moment is not just about surviving, but about stepping into the next chapter with renewed purpose. There is still work to do, still people to help, still dreams to build, and still a story God is writing.

Thank you for standing with our family.
Thank you for believing with us.
And thank you for being part of this journey toward healing.
