One of the most unexpected blessings of sharing my dialysis journey online has been the people I’ve met.
Recently, while posting in a dialysis group, someone reached out to me. She told me about her grandson — Braylon.
Kidney failure is hard. I know that firsthand. But I’ve also watched families walk through cancer treatment, and while dialysis is difficult, it isn’t chemo difficult. Still, when it’s your child or grandchild, nothing about it feels easy.
We talked at length.
About treatment.
About fear.
About strength.
About what it means to show up every day.
And then she asked me something simple:
“Could you make some bracelets for Braylon?”
Designing Braylon Strong
This wasn’t just a bracelet order.
This was a family rallying cry.
We chose natural stones intentionally:
- Blue Agate – calm, strength, stability
- Pink Tourmaline – love, compassion, emotional support
- Black Obsidian – grounding, protection, resilience
We added letter blocks spelling:
BRAYLON STRONG
BRAVE LIKE BRAYLON
