Artificial Intelligence and the Small Business: Technology is Undefeated Part One

Surely you’ve heard something about artificial intelligence. If you haven’t here is my experience.

My attitude toward AI led me to believe that it would benefit big corporations and have some impact on daily life. I had no idea what I would ever do with AI. When Chat GPT became available I started using it as a search engine of sorts. Over the last several months I have been using it on a somewhat daily basis. It has been nothing short of amazing.

The link to the article below was a moment of clarity. Listening to the podcast and hearing the common sense of the tractor freeing up resources from farming. It made perfect sense. The analogy made me quick to think if this is the next tractor, I’d better get familiar with it. Adapt or die.

Chat GPT makes me feel like the CEO of myself. For example, when I am having one of my many ideas throughout the day, making business plans, marketing ideas, and managing the daily operations of being an entrepreneur it has become my trusted advisor on consigliere. I genuinely feel like Captain Kirk at the bridge of USS Marky G, asking questions and getting answers that take in all the data in the known universe. The conversational tone of the chats through prompts have led me to pay for upgraded features in order to hopefully use voice to explore further.

One of the most useful parts is that the AI seems to get to know you and what you trying to do. It suggests things that are useful, plans actions, and offers assistance. I am writing this all by myself. I am also going to make a second post that places additional author credit for AI: I’ll cut and paste this from the editor and make a sister post of the AI version! Exciting!

Gathering information about Perinatal Dialysis using Chat GPT was one of my first experiences. I was very scared, frustrated, and had no idea what to expect. Much of the terminology I could have found in a medical dictionary. Using AI was more of a conversation with an interested party that has a way of directing the conversation.

The quality of writing and graphic design I have experienced has only been limited by my ability to write prompts. AI executes my instructions, over time there is a maturity I seen in my boys. It must learn my expectations because it meets them. When we first started things were not as well refined. I am continuing to make business plans and conduct marketing using the help of AI as much as possible. This is an effort to develop systems, utilize resources effectively, and improve quality. I have found that task that require creativity can be accomplished, the retooled to add hashtags, or other elements. Chat GPT would do things over and over with no complaints. Making slight adjustments until it met my imagined standard of perfection.

Writing content for social media is simple. Over time the Facebooks I am making are nearing what I feel are perfect. Funny, I am sure they will look less spectacular next month. That is the exciting part. Over several months my capabilities have grown exponentially and that makes what’s next thrilling.

Dialysis has made it impossible for me to continue in the construction field. The exertion makes me generally ill. Today after a couple hours I was nauseous, and had to sit down. Seems like assisting businesses grow will a possible career change. Jess Roofing is my first consulting client. I am helping them to grow in the Toledo, Ohio market. AI is my team. I direct all the action and it helps me to stay on task and maintain control of work load.

Chat GPT allows me to delegate a great deal of the work. Especially on the creative side. I can design and copy write a Facebook post, edit a photo or video, add a few hashtags, and post or schedule it. I may overthink it, and its fun, so it takes me a while. AI does it at scale in a fraction of the time. Maybe a fraction of a second? I’m a dinosaur so I ask, it cuts creates. I cut and paste…

Automating the process to some degree while improving quality is a goal that AI will teach me how to do. I am exploring as many directions as my ADD can inspire. My work style and thinking could be described as a super ball fueled by my mood thrown against my brain! When I give a subject the Irish goodbye Ai seems to know what I am talking about and where I went. IF AI and I ever share an inside joke I’ll be scared.

If your reading this and have questions I am always interested in solving problems. What concepts do you find interesting? What have you experienced that is worth the effort?

Here is a quote that AI wrote when I signed up as a paid user. I love it!

Describe me based on all our chats — make it catchy!
